ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Beth! 👋
I’m a, digital designer, musician, and MS IxD student at Pratt Institute in New York City. I’m interested in designing for music, education, art, and other digital experiences.
I grew up loving to draw and paint and really loved art class, learning painting and graphic design. In college, an HTML coding class opened the door to web design.
I worked as a production coordinator at the Webby Awards where I learned more about web design and branding. I also progressed in my career as a songwriter and musician, performing worldwide and eventually in the pits of Broadway theaters in NYC.
For as long as I can remember I’ve used my visual design and coding skills to create websites for musicians and for businesses. I also designed e-newsletters, album artwork, merchandise, event posters, stickers and more.
What drew me to UX design is the desire to build and improve. Just like writing a great song, UX design is about crafting an amazing journey or experience, and is kind of like solving a riddle. It’s revising and iterating, testing what works; and when it doesn’t, crafting it again. It’s about word smithing and refining.
I also love helping others achieve their goals, whether that’s through an amazing co-write or through crafting the best journey for a user. I’m currently a performing musician on Broadway in the suffragist-era show Suffs and I'm a first year MS IxD student Pratt Institute.
